Mile High Teach-In set for Aug. 3

The Scholastic Journalism Division of AEJMC will host a Mile High Teach-In for Colorado high school advisers on Tuesday, Aug. 3 at Rock Canyon High School in suburban Denver.

Featured speakers include Mark Goodman of Kent State University and Paul Kandell of Palo Alto High School in California. Goodman, the Knight Chair in Scholastic Journalism at Ken State, will give a talk on legal protections for a free student press. Kandell will talk about how to advisers take advantage of the Web to fully expose their student publications.

Also presenting are Mark Newton of Mountain Vista High School in Colorado; Jack Kennedy, president of the Journalism Education Association; Candace and John Bowen of Kent State; and David Bulla and Kalpana Ramgopal of Iowa State,

Advisers in Colorado are encouraged to register early. They may send their registration form to David Bulla (by e-mail) or by snail mail to Iowa State University, Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, 111 Hamilton Hall, Ames, Iowa 50011.
